About
The Bulgarian Society for Music Theory (BSMT) is presented here as an active professional and scholarly organization in the field of music theory, with documented members, organizational activity and international professional participation.
About the Society
BSMT / БСМТ is the abbreviation used across this bilingual site for the Bulgarian Society for Music Theory. The preserved organizational archive records a Board meeting reported for 18 May 2025, a professional meeting on 29 September 2026, and reported BSMT participation in a dedicated session at EUROMAC 11 in Barcelona on 7–10 September 2026. Public descriptions distinguish verified records from source claims and unresolved historical details; the archive preserves provenance and uncertainty rather than inferring legal status, office terms or membership decisions that the available sources do not establish.
Participation in the European scholarly community
At EuroMAC 11 in Barcelona (7–10 September 2026), the official programme included a dedicated BSMT welcome session with Dimitar Ninov (President), Bozhidar Chapkanov (Vice-President), Milena Bozhikova and Ivan Penev.
